INSTRUCTORS

DENİZ ÖZKUT

Deniz Özkut is graduated from İzmir Dokuz Eylül University in 1992. Her master degree is from ODTÜ Architecture Faculty, Restoration Department USA in 1997. She received her PHD at İzmir Yüksek Teknoloji Enstitüsü, at the department of Restoration, 2004. She assumed the title of assistant professor in 2005 and associate professor in 2011. Deniz Özkut worked as co- head of Architecture Department in 2005 – 2008 and became the head of the restoration department in 2005-2008. She has memberships to art and scientific organizations like DOCOMOMO, mAAN, KOR-DER, İzmir Chamber of Architecture.

DÜRNEV ATILGAN

Dürnev Atılgan is graduated from Middle East Technical University. She Continued her graduae education at Pratt Instıtute. Dürnev Atılgan continued her academic career at Dokuz Eylül University and Bahçeşehir University Department of Architecture.

 

BURAK ALTINIŞIK

Burak Altınışık is graduated from Dokuz Eylül University, Department of Architecture in 1995. He gained his masters degree from Middle East Technical University in 1998. Between 2002-2005 he worked as a reseach assistant in Dokuz Eylül University. From 2005 till 2008 he worked as a lecturer in Kocaeli University. Since 2008 he works in Bahçeşehir University as a lecturer. He received his PHD at Yıldız Technical Unversity,  in History and Theory of Architecure graduate program.

AHMET ÖNDER

Ahmet Önder is graduated from TED Ankara College, 1989. Ahmet Önder continued his education at İstanbul Technical University, 1989- 1994. He attended andorganized AFS – EASA – TMÖB organizations. Between the years of 1993-1995, 1998-2001 Önder worked at “Mimarlar Tasarım ve Danışmanlık Hizmetleri”.  Being one of the founders of ‘Mono Architectural Design’ he still works in this office.

ALİŞAN ÇIRAKOĞLU

Alişan Çırakoğlu is graduated from Middle East Technical University and after graduation he continued his education in the same university. He focused on ‘scale and projection: conventions at architectural narration and design process and study on new technologies’ as his master thesis. Between the years of 1996-1999 he worked in Ankara and İstanbul in various offices. Alişan Çırakoğlu has numerous awards from architecture competitions.

ÖMER KANIPAK

After receiving his Master’s degree from MIT School of Architecture’s Department of History, Theory and Criticism, Ömer Kanipak founded Arkitera Architecture Center in 2000. He held the position of general director at the center until 2011. Currently he is a freelance architect working on various urban and architectural research projects. He frequently writes for various national and international publications, and provides consultancy for related institutions and architectural offices.

ORHAN KOLUKISA

Orhan Kolukısa is an architect, designer and photographer with extensive experience in creating and managing visual communications. After his graduation from ITU 1997, he started his career as an architect. He received his master’s degree from ITU Dept. of Industrial Design after completing his thesis on user interfaces and usability. Throughout his career he always kept architecture as the basic and comprehensive discipline while venturing on other forms of art and design. As an artist, his works usually focus on built environment and nature and the tensions between them. He currently lives in Istanbul where he runs his own design and consultancy business.

TÜLİN HADİ

She is graduated from ITU Faculty of Architecture in 1993. Until her graduation she worked in the realization project of National Reasurans Complex. She also worked with Ergün Aksel in architectural competitions and with Mehmet Tataroğlu,and Ömer Bortaçina in interior design. She worked with Turgut Cansever between 1992-1994. She became the partner of TeCe Architects in 1994 with Cem İlhan. She participated architectural workshops and jury memberships. She has been the producer/presenter Design 360 in CNNTurk between 2003-2006. She received Arkitera Young Architect Award 2006. She has been the jury member of National Architecural Award and Arkitera Young Architect Award 2008.

YAMAÇ KORFALI

Yamaç Korfali is graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Department of architecture. After His graduation he continued his education in The Bartlett School of Architecture and completed his master thesis with the supervision of  Peter Cook. He worked in Eric Perry Architects for four years about Office buildings and architecture competitions. He continued his career in Zaha Hadid Architects, and worked in Aquatics Center Project for the 2012 London Olympics. He has been working in İstanbul, and is an architectural design instructor in Bahçeşehir University.

RESEARCH ASSISTANTS

ZEYNEP GÜL SÖHMEN

On 2009 she is graduated from Yeditepe University Department of Architecture.On 2010 she completed her minor at  Department of Graphical Design. On 2011 she completed her master thesis about analysing  architectural representations through the notions of mimesis, reproduction, translation and narration, at Istanbul Technical University. Between 2011-2012 she worked at architectural offices as an architect and graphical designer. Currently she studies her PHD at Istanbul Technical University and works as a research assistant at BAU.

HİDAYET SOFTAOĞLU

 Graduated from Bahçeşehir university, 2010 and got her master degree “gsa- glasgow school of art- urban building”, 2011. She has prcaticed measured drawing and interior design during her internship. Her interesrs are design, philosophy, art, fashion, cultural studies. She  is currently Phd student in Bahçeşehir University.
